We’ve got the details
From first ideas to final high-five, this page brings together the practical information teachers and Party Leaders need to plan with confidence, whether it’s a school residential, a sports weekend or a family adventure.
Plenty of excitement up front. Calm, capable planning underneath.
What kind of JCA trip are you planning?
School residential. Sports weekend. Family adventure.
Different trips, same JCA energy.
However your group travels, JCA trips are built around getting involved, giving it a go and coming home with stories worth telling, all with experienced teams making sure everything runs as it should.
Pick the trip that fits your group, and we’ll help shape the rest.
School residential trips
Big days. Brave firsts. Moments that matter.
JCA school residentials are designed to help children grow in confidence, build friendships and discover just how capable they really are. And of course, have an unforgettable time away from the classroom.
Think climbing, water sports, problem-solving challenges and outdoor adventures that bring groups together and stretch comfort zones in all the right ways.

Sports weekends
Teams together. Energy high. Bonds stronger by Sunday.
Our sports weekends mix competitive action with adventurous activities to create trips that build teamwork, confidence and connection, on and off the pitch.
From football and netball round-robin tournaments to adventurous challenges, it’s about more than results. It’s about team spirit, shared experiences and plenty of laughs in between, with all the organisation handled for you.
Family adventure holidays
Less screen time. More “let’s try that!”
JCA family adventure holidays are all about doing things together. Think climbing, paddling, exploring and laughing your way through weekends and school holidays.
They’re relaxed, welcoming and packed with opportunities for children (and grown-ups) to step outside their comfort zones and make proper memories as a family.
Come as you are. Leave with stories.
How planning a JCA trip works
From here, it’s just three easy steps.
What’s included on a JCA trip
Everything you need for a brilliant trip, without the endless add-ons or admin headaches.
JCA trips are built so you can focus on the experience itself, not the logistics whirring away in the background. From the moment you arrive, the essentials are in place, the plan is clear, and the days are ready to roll.
A fully planned programme
Every day is planned with purpose, around your group’s age, energy levels and what you want them to get out of the trip.
There’s challenge when it’s exciting, breathing space when it’s needed, and enough variety to keep momentum high from breakfast through to bedtime stories (or post-activity collapses).
It feels busy in the best possible way, never chaotic, but never flat.
Accommodation that actually works for groups
Our accommodation is set up for real-life school and group trips, not brochure photoshoots.
Think clear spaces and sensible layouts that make mornings smoother, evenings calmer, and transitions quicker than a whistle blast.
All meals included
Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are all taken care of during your stay, with dietary and medical requirements planned in advance.
With everyone fed, energy stays high. And there’s no counting lunchboxes or chasing missing snacks.
It’s amazing how much lighter a day feels when food is already handled.
Equipment & instruction
All specialist equipment is provided, and activities are led by trained instructors who know how to read a group, when to dial things up, when to slow them down, and when to celebrate wins loudly.
You bring the group. We’ll bring the kit, the know-how and the encouragement.
On-site support, throughout
JCA teams are on site and available throughout the trip, keeping things running smoothly and stepping in whenever support is needed.
Most of the time, you won’t notice it happening. You’ll just feel that the trip flows, the days land well, and everything’s under control.
The takeaway
When you arrive at a JCA centre, the foundations are already in place.
Activities are ready.
People know their roles.
Support is where it needs to be.
Which leaves you free to do the good stuff — watching confidence grow, sharing the laughs, and being part of the moments your group will still be talking about long after the ride back home.
