Our commitment to quality and safety
At JCA, we are dedicated to providing safe, high-quality outdoor learning experiences for schools, families and groups. While fun and adventure are at the heart of every residential, safety, education and personal development always come first. Our accreditations reflect the standards we uphold across all our UK activity centres.
Exceeding standards, surpassing expectations
We aim to deliver memorable experiences that help young people grow. Through team-building, problem-solving and hands-on challenges, students develop key skills including communication, confidence and organisation.
Leaders regularly tell us they see:
- Improved teamwork
- Stronger social cohesion
- Increased confidence
- Leadership qualities emerging
- Greater resilience
Our work is also recognised by respected regulatory and advisory bodies. We continue to meet and exceed the standards set by the British Activity Providers Association (BAPA) and other National Governing Bodies.
As a fully bonded member of ABTA, schools also benefit from financial protection and confidence in our commitment to fair, transparent trading (ABTA number: V7530).
Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC)
JCA is proud to hold the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge – the national benchmark for providers of outdoor learning.
This accreditation acknowledges our shared belief that every young person should benefit from meaningful experiences beyond the classroom. Hands-on, real-world challenges help students of all abilities develop new skills, build independence and engage more deeply with learning.
Delivering high-quality adventure activities
Across our UK centres, our programmes are recognised for their quality, structure and safety. Our instructor training and centre operations meet the expectations of leading bodies, including:
- Archery GB – all instructors trained to Archery GB instructor-award standards; all ranges operated to Archery GB guidelines

- British Fencing – fencing instructors trained to the Fencing Activity Leaders Award
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) – all staff required to complete enhanced checks
- Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) – lifeguards trained to RLSS-approved standards
- Institute for Outdoor Learning – corporate membership
- AALS (Adventure Activities Licensing Service) – watersports at Croft Farm operated by an AALS-licensed provider (Licence No. L10044/RO273)
- Royal Yachting Association (RYA) – Croft Farm Waterpark recognised as an RYA training centre with regular inspections
These accreditations provide assurance that our courses, equipment, instructors and safety procedures meet nationally recognised standards.
