Safety is top of our agenda for all teams who join us for a junior football weekend at Condover Hall. Our activity centre and use of Power League pitches are focused on providing a safe environment for all teams to enjoy. At JCA, we promote a culture of safety awareness throughout our programme of adventure activities. We achieve this by maintaining high standards of safety and security without skipping on the excitement of a JCA adventure!
Managing safety at Condover Hall
All of our UK adventure centres complies with the health & safety protocols required to operate safely. Junior football Party Leaders can access a copy of our public liability insurance on-site at Condover Hall.
We work to a Safety Management System that ensures we maintain our stringent levels expected of our centres. This has been externally inspected and verified with each JCA team member trained to the standards depicted. Working alongside our formalised Emergency Procedures Plan, we ensure all staff members receive the relevant training. In the unlikely event of a serious emergency occurring, the JCA team have the support of the TUI Crisis Management Team.
Every JCA instructor carries a first aid kit when leading activity sessions and holds the Health & Safety Executive Appointed Person award. A senior member of staff holding the First Aid at Work qualification is present at all of our football weekends. Each football fixture will also have a first aider on hand to support an injuries sustained during play.
Our JCA policy on safety is visible every day at Condover Hall with safety and equipment checks conducted and recorded. In the event any equipment shows signs of wear and tear, the item is immediately removed and replaced accordingly.
Comprehensive risk assessments have been completed for all activities and to support Party Leaders in the planning of their junior football weekend, generic documents are available to download as part of the Party Leader Information section.
In the event of any accidents or near misses arising, reports are recorded, analysed and corrected to safeguard them against occurring in the future.
Security on a junior football weekend
Strict security measures are also in place at our accommodation blocks. A member of the JCA team are on call 24 hours a day and a senior staff member is contactable until 11pm. We have JCA porter patrols take over ground security from 11pm to 7am ensuring the safety of all on site.
The JCA team are recognisable by their JCA uniform and accompanying photograph ID. Visitors to Condover Hall must sign in at reception upon arrival and wear a visitor badge for identification. Site security is also supported by our clear perimeter boundaries, security barriers and CCTV in operation to ensure the safety of your group at our activity centre.
